Laura Schenone
Laura Schenone is the author of three books published by W.W. Norton: a James Beard Award winning social history of American women told through food; a memoir about her search for a long lost family recipe; and a deeply reported work of narrative nonfiction about the people who rescue animals (inspired by her dog Lily). Most recently, she co-authored a book on a major midcentury designer, to be published by Phaidon in 2024. Laura’s work has been featured in the New York Times, Reader’s Digest, Food and Wine, Good Housekeeping, Elle, Entertainment Weekly, the Miami Herald, Newsday, and NPR. Her bylines have appeared in Saveur magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Lit Hub, and many other places.
Laura is passionate about literature of all kinds. She has a master’s degree in creative writing from City College of New York, where she studied with Deborah Eisenberg, and before that did graduate work at NYU, where she studied with Margaret Atwood, E.L. Doctorow, and Galway Kinnel. As an intrepid ghostwriter, book doctor, editor, and communicator she helps business leaders, memoirists, and novelists develop and publish their books and essays. She loves helping people tell their stories.
